The Lowdown

The worldwide food prices had a significant increase, reaching the highest level in 1.5 years. This rise can be attributed to trade interruptions caused by the El Niño weather phenomena, which negatively impacted countries involved in agricultural production. Or, so “they” say.

Additionally, concerns regarding the supply of agricultural products were intensified by Russia’s withdrawal from a vital agriculture agreement supported by the United Nations.

According to the report released by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on Friday, the overall food index, which monitors the monthly fluctuations in the international prices of food commodities sold worldwide, recorded an average value of 123.9 in July.

The July edition of the FAO Food Price Index recorded the most substantial monthly increase since March 2022.

Seriously, when is this shit going to cease? As modern American adults, we can hardly afford to breathe at this point.
