Why caring less makes you happier
The lesser of one thing means you gain more of another
How many of you care what others think about you? How many of you allow the biases of others towards you affect your thinking? All I can say is that we’re human. At one time we all cared about those things to a degree.
Picking out the freshest outfits to wear for the week the first day of school, trying to impress that person that has your eye and the list goes on and on. But the caveat is, this can harm your wellbeing. I mean it in a sense of one can lose themselves trying to fit in, trying to appease others just for validation.
We have to face our demons otherwise they’ll win. Those habits above are habits of individuals that have very low self-esteem. When we have high self-esteem, we validate ourselves and that’s what matters! Your own inner approval rating.
When a ship is sinking, the water is allowed in to cause the destruction. Don’t allow the words, actions, media, peer-pressure sink your ship (mind). You want to improve the way you feel or look at yourself, first find the love for yourself. It starts by eating right and exercising. Getting out of your comfort zone.
You don’t know what you’re capable of until you’re pushed. Life, in a way, is about building a foundation with the bricks people throw at you! With all of that said, you’ll be happier the less you give a rats ass. Cheers 🥂
