TikTok Is Officially Prohibited by Law After President Biden Signed A Bill.

Here it is, the moment we have all been waiting for. As of today, President Biden has put his signature on House Resolution 8038, which is a foreign aid package that includes a provision that will compel ByteDance to relinquish its ownership of TikTok.

This package also includes help for Taiwan, Israel, and Ukraine.

The purpose of this part of House Resolution 8038, which is referred to as the “Protecting Americans from Foreign Enemy Controlled Applications Act,” is to hinder the use of any program that is controlled by a foreign enemy, not simply TikTok.

The House of Representatives voted in favor of it on April 20, 2024, and the Senate voted in favor of it yesterday, on April 23, 2024.
