Can the news get any worse? Many people in the United States like dining at fancy restaurants. However, many people have complained that, with inflation and pay demands, even fast food is too expensive.
It is worrisome that hundreds of well-known restaurant chains have shut down this year. The restaurant apocalypse could be a better description.
Most people would prefer to add roughly $20 for a single person’s dinner at McDonald’s to their already-increasing food prices. The fact that people are opting out of eating in restaurants is problematic for the economy on multiple fronts.
Everyone from employees to franchisees to property owners of eating establishments feels the pinch when those people’s paychecks dry up. And that is just the beginning.
What a time to be alive indeed.
