Subtle Price Hike Affects YouTube Premium Subscribers
Google increased subscriptions to YouTube Premium in the US in price behind the scenes. No signs of inflation decrease anywhere.
The monthly fee for a single YouTube Premium account has increased by $2 to $13.99. Signing up on iOS will now cost you $18.99, up from $15.99.
A yearly subscription is now $139.99, up from $119.99. That works out to be an annual gain of $20.
The monthly fee for YouTube Music Premium has increased from $9.99 to $10.99.
Even though the new, higher pricing is displayed on the site’s signup page, YouTube still needs to disclose the price rise. The higher rates will affect all subscribers in the following payment cycle.
So nice of Google to apprise the subscribers of the imminent price increase. Oh well, we have been subjected to shrink-flation for a couple of years now.
