You know it is a bad economy when a platform like indeed.com is ready to pull the trigger on a mass layoff for roughly two thousand workers.

The last time we saw something similar to this was back in 2008, and the issue worsened throughout the year.

When one of the world’s major employment portals begins performing mass layoffs, you know things are terrible…

On Wednesday, job search platform Indeed announced that it plans to lay off 2,200 employees, or roughly 15% of its staff.

Indeed CEO Chris Hyams said in a letter shared with employees that the cuts come from nearly every team at Indeed and Indeed Flex, noting that the decisions were carefully made with human resources, the legal department, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Belonging teams.

As the economy declines, it is unavoidable that many more Americans will lose their employment.

Let us hope it does not happen to you.
