Medium Cracking Down On AI Content.
No, I am not kidding. Medium is cracking down on AI-generated content, and as a result, one can be subjected to some form of punishment.
Can you guess what this “punishment” is?
How do I feel about it?
To put it bluntly, I do not know how this is going to work. The web is entrenched with various AI tools that “detect” AI-written content; however, they are not accurate.
About a year ago, I copied/pasted the U.S. Constitution to a tool called Copyscape and it read 90% AI-generated. So, to me, these detection tools are not accurate whatsoever.
Something from a couple of hundred years ago was flagged. Hilarious! 😂
I get it, people rely on AI tools as a crutch and it is saturating the blogosphere with repetitive garbage. Tools such as Grammarly are fine to use with this new update coming May 1st.
Furthermore, the world as we know it is going full-on AI whether it is cars, computers, smartphones, etc. Only time will tell how this update will affect those utilizing AI.
