Sugar is one of the most underrated addictions in the world. As consumers in the US alone, billions of pounds in sugar is consumed. 11 billion metric tons to be precise for the year 2020–21. Thats a lot of sugar!

According to health.gov , “sugar does not provide nutrients — such as vitamins, minerals or protein — even though many people think of it as a carbohydrate.”
