Good day everyone. The time has arrived for the fruit company to announce some of their “new” products for the year.

With this being said, today was the day the new Mac Mini was announced alongside the much anticipated MacBook Pro M2 chipsets.

I will not discuss the Mac Mini today and will only focus on the high-end laptops. Here are some of the specs.

The chassis design language

Per usual, Apple retained the erstwhile chassis on the MacBook Pro from yesteryear.

The design was a much-needed refresher from the years prior. It is industrial and flat with some added weight for ports and cooling.

The design reminds me of the old Power Books from the early 2000s.

Furthermore, the chassis retains its two-color option of Silver or Space Grey. I fancy the Silver color personally because it accentuates the black keyboard perfectly.

In addition, Bluetooth was improved for the first time in many years.

The HDMI port was upgraded from 2.0 to 2.1 and can support 8K pictures up to 60HZ and 4K, supporting 240HZ refresh rates.

Wifi was upgraded to support Wi-Fi 6E. This sums up the totality of the chassis design for the 2023 MacBooks.

Apple silicon chipsets

When Apple released the M1 Pro and M1 Max in October of 2021, the power of these chips was unprecedented.

To this day, these chips still reign supreme in a way. The fruit company future-proofed its device from the start.

Fast-forward to January 17th, 2023, the game has somewhat changed; however, only a little.

The M series chips could be more impressive to me. The new models may have more options for CPU and GPU but fail to live up to the hype like their predecessors.
